Virginia is poised to pass legislation that would require women to endure this invasive ultrasound, for no medical reason, before receiving an abortion.

No reason. None.

-Jess

From the article:

Worse, discussions among lawmakers leave little doubt that its supporters understood just what they were trying to write into law — they just didn’t care. As an unnamed lawmaker told a fellow Virginia delegate, a woman already consented to being “vaginally penetrated when they got pregnant.”

These are the people who are leading our country people. They honestly believe that if you consent to sex you are also consenting to pregnancy, childbirth, and pretty much anything else that involves your vagina. These people believe that if you were unlucky enough to be born with a vagina you are now government owned property.

If you’re as pissed off as I am, I strongly suggest you get off your ass and vote in every election you can. We have to make sure that every single person who supports bills like these loses their jobs. They don’t deserve to hold public office.

This is not OK.  Every day I’m finding myself wondering if I’ve stepped into a surreal episode of the Twilight Zone.  This cannot be a reality in my life in America in 2012!  Earlier when I posted about Kim Pearson of Iowa calling for abortion doctors to be charged with murder, I thought that was the worst woman’s health news I’d read all day.  I was sadly mistaken.

Clearly there are women in politics that are willing to roll over and let this happen to us.  There are both male and female politicians that are against shit like this but for some reason they’re not helping us.  We have to make our voices heard.  We have to fight back with our votes.  We cannot be apathetic when issues like this are not on the table, because that apathy leads to the assholes that would propose such things being elected into office.  Please, please, please research your politician, whether it’s the City Councilman or the President.  We live in a time where information is readily available to us.  Don’t just show up on election day and randomly pick a name.  Yes that’s voting, but that’s doing so uninformed and you may be doing more harm than good.

I can’t believe this is even  happening.  What the hell Virginia? This is so incredibly horrible.

“As an unnamed lawmaker told a fellow Virginia delegate, a woman already consented to being “vaginally penetrated when they got pregnant.””

My favorite part about this—and you all know tha there are LOTS of things I really, really LOVE about this proposed legislation—is the sheer blatancy. The above quote is a public official saying outright that a non-virgin is automatically allowed to be raped and/or used as a baby factory by any member of the public who desires to do so. Have sex once, and you are never allowed to say “NO” again.

Gee, I wonder why so many people get raped? Could it be because YOU told them it was okay? Let it be known, again and again: Virginia thinks raping women is perfectly fine, indeed, something to be expected. Virginia rapes women. Virginia rapes women. This whole fucking country is attempting to rape women.

What the fuck, Virginia?

And this is why I hate society.
